Since 1979, Central City Concern has been a lifeline for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Portland. Every year, they support over 15,000 individuals with affordable housing, person-centered healthcare, addiction recovery, and employment assistance. Their work changes lives—and now, with the addition of EV charging stations, they’re also helping to change the planet.
For Central City Concern, these chargers are more than just infrastructure. They symbolize an investment in the future of their community. Residents now have access to sustainable transportation options, supporting their journey to stability and independence while contributing to Oregon’s broader clean energy goals.
Going Home II: Bridging the Gap Between Incarceration and Community

Imagine being released from prison with nothing but a hope for a fresh start. Going Home II ensures that hope is met with real support. Through transitional housing, material resources, and personal mentoring, this nonprofit helps individuals rebuild their lives after incarceration.
Transportation is often a significant hurdle for those re-entering the workforce or reconnecting with their families. By installing EV chargers at Going Home II’s facilities, we’re helping reduce transportation costs and improve access to sustainable mobility. For many, these chargers represent a second chance—not just at transportation, but at life.
Hacienda CDC: Empowering Families and Building Futures
Hacienda CDC is more than just a community development corporation; it’s a force for transformation. As a Latino-led organization, they strengthen families through affordable housing, homeownership support, and economic advancement programs.
When we partnered with Hacienda CDC to install EV chargers at their Las Adelitas property, it wasn’t just about plugging in cars—it was about plugging in opportunity. With a grant of $23,776 from Pacific Power’s E-Mobility Grant Program, we offset 100% of the costs related to EV charging equipment and maintenance. These chargers are now fueling more than vehicles—they’re fueling an EV car-sharing program that makes sustainable transportation accessible for everyone.
This program wouldn’t have been possible without onsite EV chargers, and we’re thrilled to see how it’s empowering Hacienda CDC’s residents and their community to embrace a greener future.
